Share My Passion

I’ve been having a blast (and long working nights!) this week with a newfound passion.

Don’t you love it, that you can be over 50 and still finding new things to get excited about? Maybe that seems normal to you, and if so, great! It’s been one of my fears — that life hits “humdrum” at a certain point, and never recovers.

Do you remember, a good while back, when I wrote about finding the bones of your dreams? (If not, find that article here.) Turns out this new interest is a good example of my point.  “The bones” of my dreams are about creative self-expression, and about exploring the deeper corners of the human heart and spirit through stories (books, movies, audios… any form of story).

My new found passion…drum roll, please… is the imovie program in my Mac computer! I still have a lot to learn in terms of finessing, but it’s so user friendly, I’ve now put together 4 different projects involving images, text, and sound (both voice tracks and music.) You probably saw the first two.  I used them to advertise events I hosted here in Sequim at the Cutting Garden.

The 2 newest creations have been part of an online contest currently running, entitled “Next Great Visionary Business.”  It’s hosted by Maggie Ostara, PhD, who teaches healers, artists, etc., how to make their businesses successful. I have an entry, as does my frined and client, Susan Scott. I produced her video as well as my own so visit both! You are invited to visit, make a comment,* and vote. Lots of cool entries, lots to get excited about. If you share my passion, please vote for me, and vote for Susan!

Here’s the link to my entry

Note: In order to vote, you will have to register. This means you’ll be on Maggie Ostara’s “list,” and will get updates about the contest. (There are 3 rounds, you can vote for me only once per round, but you can vote for as many entries as you want each round.) Once the contest is over, you can easily “unsubscribe” from Maggie’s list. It takes a minute more to register, but your vote makes a big difference, so your time and effort are really appreciated!

*If you have a Facebook account, when you are visiting my entry, there is a place you can comment and it will go out to your friends as well. This helps spread the word. If my vision is to grow, it needs to reach more people. And you can help me with that.

There are prizes to be won, including a chance to speak at Maggie’s next live event, (which I would love!) But win, lose, or draw, it gives me a chance to practice sharing my vision. The world needs each of us, with all our creativity. I’m delighted there is a contest like this to encourage folks to aim high.

Coach’s Challenge: If you had to write a manifesto of your own, what is YOUR big vision for the world? How would you love to see your creative dreams unfold? Leave a comment, let us all know. Dreaming together is that imagining step of magic. It’s the real deal. You can’t achieve it until you conceive it!
