You Need the Spotlight

You Need the Spotlight

You know I’m in a contest, (please vote for me!) here. Visit, Register, Comment, Vote! Round one of the contest ends August 31 – what happens in the next 10 days determines if I advance to round two or not. I appreciate your help! My continuing effort to reach out and ask for votes has me thinking about the delights and challenges of being in the spotlight.

When I say “Spotlight,” I’m talking about your right ring finger: through the fingerprint as part of your Life Purpose, your Life Lesson, or through a Gift Marker. I’m guessing most of you have had it show up in your Life Purpose Hand Analysis – I have it through gift markings as well as the length of my ring finger. I have BIG spotlight needs in order to thrive, and since I’ve attracted you, it’s likely you need the spotlight too, whether or not you are comfortable owning it.

If you haven’t had a Life Purpose Hand Analysis yet, consider signing up today (here). I am about to raise my prices substantially again. A trusted coach of mine let me know it should not be offered for less than $500 because of the incredible value it provides for transforming your life. My personal experience tells me she’s right – I paid more than $500 for mine. It’s been worth every cent.

Your ring finger is called the Apollo finger in scientific hand analysis-ese. The Greek god Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun, truth and prophecy, healing, music, poetry, and more. The Apollo fingerprint as Life Purpose is often articulated as “Artist in the Spotlight.” It indicates a need for creativity, and for expressing that creativity in public ways. This is not about ego. It’s about this: a book needs readers, a play needs an audience, a vegetable garden needs someone to savor and consume its bounty, a building needs appreciative inhabitants, music needs ears to hear it, and so forth.

If this fingerprint is part of your Life Lesson, you may believe you are not creative; you may even be falsely blasé about creative endeavors. But overcoming your personal “glass ceiling” requires you to actively use the energy in its positive form. In other words, you must create, and share your creations publicly. Be it on stage, in a gallery, in a parade, in the political arena, through business, etc., etc. If you want your life to blossom, you’ve got to embrace it.

“But I’m afraid people won’t like what I’ve created!” “What if I do it and I fail?” “My creations aren’t good enough to be shared publicly.” “If I do it and fail, I’ll have to give up my dearest dream!” “As long as I get to create, it doesn’t matter if anyone else ever sees it.”

These are the kind of nefarious and frankly, untrue thoughts that probably run through your head. The bad news: the fear never goes away. The good news: when you feel the fear and do it anyway, WOW! The pay-off is often enormous, at multiple and unimagined levels. So guess what you have to do? …Right-o!

Coach’s Challenge: Sit down with a piece of paper, and make note of 10 ideas you’ve had in the last year related to your creativity. Pick one. Decide by when you will do it.  Make a commitment by leaving a comment. Yep, it’s as easy, and as hard, as that. I specialize in helping you articulate and find expression for your message, so if you make your list and find the voice in your head screaming “…but I CAN’T!” – it’s definitely time to sign up for some coaching with me.
