Receiving Remote Reiki: “How-Tos”
1) Sit or lay down at specified time.
2) Relax. Try to keep your mind easy and inward-focused.
3) Whatever happens is fine:
Mind: will probably wander. You might get images, memories, or have dream-like visions. Your attention will fade in and out. You may fall asleep. This is fine as well, just as you can fall asleep during a massage. You will still receive the treatment.
Body: you might experience any number of physical sensations: warmth, coolness, tingling, etc. It’s all fine, there is no possible damage.
Emotions: you might experience an emotional release – tears are not uncommon.
4) Saying “no” to the session: Reiki is all about intention –both sending and receiving it. Part of my process is to invite your higher self forward and ask its permission to send Reiki. So if you are unavailable or do not wish to receive Reiki on a Tuesday or Friday evening at 10pm PST, just say aloud and with clear intent, “No Reiki for me this evening, thank you.” You can say that anytime in the day prior to 10pm.
5) The energy you will receive is not from me, it is through me. Like all of us, I am able to be a channel for Universal energy. It happens that I am gifted at this, and am being called to do more of it. All kinds of positive assistance is available to each of us from the invisible realms. And it’s my experience that we receive that assistance most powerfully when channeled through the positive intent of another human being.
6) If you are already asleep at session time, that’s fine. You will receive the session just the same. The energy might wake you up, but there is nothing disturbing about it. If you are asleep you probably won’t track the session itself, but you will still receive the benefits.
7) If you can, I encourage you to take note of your experience – perhaps in a journal the next morning or day. Note specifics, both what it is like for you to receive it, and any resulting experiences – different moods, different interactions, different amount of energy or wellbeing. This is a helpful way to observe the very tangible effects of this “invisible” treatment.
