Feel Better, Manifest Better

Feel Better, Manifest Better

Last week I shared a suggestion to reframe your goals and accomplishments with a bird’s eye view of the larger picture (here). Today I’m going to take you in for a close-up shot. I want to show you this hidden truth: Feel better, manifest better.

My goal: I’m currently working on getting a webpage put together for my book. Simple, right? Yes! Especially when I have the promised help of an expert. The hang up is in the part I’ve taken on doing myself, which is designing the header image. I decided to create a block print.

I’ve been judging myself pretty negatively as I measure the progress I’m not making, and getting downright frustrated in the process. It seems like I’ve been stuck on the same task for the last three weeks. What is feeling frustrated getting me? More frustration!

In fact, there are actually lots of little steps, little details, that have to be properly tended in order for my header image to work. (Make the drawing. Reverse it. Trace it on the block. Cut the block. Get the ink. Buy the paper. Print the block. Fix the print. Re-do as needed. Take the photo. Upload the photo. Edit the photo.) When I come back to the reality of all the detailed steps actually involved, it does 3 things:

  1. I have a really long list with lots of steps I can check off (“Done!”)
  2. I have a more realistic sense of accomplishment and forward motion.
  3. I feel better.***

It’s how you feel about what you are doing that most affects the reality of how it flows. You can’t manifest ease if you feel panic, or satisfaction if you feel frustration. Use your bird’s-eye view or the zoom lens as needed to help manage your emotional state. Those changes of perspective are changes of thought that change your emotion. If you are after happiness, you need to find a way to feel happy today, not when you accomplish such-and-such. Happiness begets happiness. So start now!

Coach’s Challenge: What are you working on? If you feel stuck, what has you stuck? Who can you ask for help? When you list all you’ve been doing, are you aware of all the details you’ve actually been tending to? Sometimes, it really does count to put everything you’ve done on your list so you can check it off! Notice both the quantity and the quality of what you’ve been accomplishing. Both contribute to the whole. Most of all, find a way to feel better about your progress. Not to patronize or excuse – but to manifest better, faster results! As always, I invite you to leave a comment, and share your journey!
