Commitment: the 3rd Key to the deep flow of your heart and soul

Commitment

The 3rd key to accessing the deep flow of your heart and soul…

…is Commitment. Anytime you want more flow, calling on this key will give you solid results.

What does being out of touch with your heart and soul look like? It might look like complacency, negativity, doubt, uncertainty, confusion, depression or despair. Other faces are cynicism, sarcasm, even a blasé attitude can mask a yearning for something more.

When these stuck feelings happen, one of the best ways to move forward is to commit to creating something better for yourself. You probably don’t know what that thing is, yet, but don’t let that stop you. Commit. Make it ceremonial. Face yourself in the mirror, and say “I commit to doing whatever it takes to _____ (bring joy back into your life.)” Say it with complete conviction.

Taking that stand of conviction, of being an advocate for yourself is powerful energy. It’s warrior energy, and it’s the energy of passion. This energy will drive you into action.

“But I don’t know what I want,” you say. “How can I take action? Shouldn’t I wait for clarity before I dive in?”

The surprising answer is: “no.” Action breeds clarity. You will learn what you want through finding out what you don’t want as much as from what you do. Commit and take bold action—the clarity will follow.

I’ll leave you with my favorite quote about commitment:

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
