The 6th Key to your Lovely Life:
The 6th key to your lovely life is communication—the great gate controlling flow in your life.
I’ve been talking about the keys to harnessing the deep flow of your heart and soul—aka your lovely life. The keys so far are:
(clicking on any of the above will take you to that blog)
The energy is rising.
You’ve used the alchemy of the Universe to come up with a vision that resonates deep in your heart. You’ve made the commitment and mustered up the courage to take action on it, thereby gaining more clarity about the vision.
The 6th key…
I want to address 3 aspects of it:
- communicating your vision to the world (and your tribe)
- communicating with yourself
- communicating with your partner, spouse, and intimate friends.
“Why do I need all this communication? I just want to have my lovely life. I’m not trying to change the world,” you say. Ah, but you are. When you deeply want something that has not yet come to be—be it world peace or a new job, you are trying to change the world, and you need help to bring it to life. Once you have your clear vision with heart, you need to communicate it to others in order to summon energy around that vision: energy that can bring it alive, support it, and make it real. This is where you ask for help.
Our technological world makes it easy with blogs, email, and social media posts. Before technology, we had the US mail: sending letters is still a great way to reach people and to speak to their hearts. The written word is very effective, as long as the message is authentic and personal.
Speaking to people is the all-time winner in efficacious communication. One-on-one, in small groups, or speaking to a throng: when you share your heart-felt creative vision, people sit up and listen. There’s no shortage of people talking at you. But people talking to you, about something they care about deeply will always be highly prized.
Communicating with yourself: this is a daily necessity: the check-in between your mind, body, heart, and soul. This is the tool for seeking balance, exploring what next step is needed, and prioritizing self-care.I would include communicating with your guidance in this category.
Communicating with those close to you is the foundation of intimacy. Sharing of yourself: your thoughts, experiences, ideas, and especially your feelings, is what draws people to you and keeps them close. Anytime this line of communication shuts down—due to stress, being busy, whatever—intimacy suffers.
Coach’s Challenge: Take a look at the flow in and around you—where could you use more flow? That’s a signal that more communication is in order. Aha! Make the connection, and go for the communication. Leave a comment, let me know how communication has changed the flow in your life.
