7th Key to Your Lovely Life

The 7th Key to your Lovely Life

I’ve been talking about the keys to harnessing the deep flow of your heart and soul—aka your lovely life. The keys so far are:

  1. Creativity (and here’s a bonus one: Matt Damon’s Martian Potatoes)
  2. Compassion
  3. Commitment
  4. Courage
  5. Clarity
  6. Communication

Yes, they’re all “C” words… I couldn’t quite come up with a clever pun or metaphor… Oh! “Sail the 7 C’s?” “From C to Shining C?” A bit too far fetched…

By the way, although I’ve given these keys to you in an order, they are really more like a wheel, with creativity (the deep flow of your heart and soul) at the hub.

You choose the spoke most needed at any given moment, and implement its power to help you, always returning to creativity and the receptive state it requires.

So far, you’ve come up with a vision that resonates deep in your heart. You’ve made the commitment and mustered up the courage to take action on it, thereby gaining more clarity about the vision. You’ve communicated the vision to yourself, your intimate circle, and your tribe (like-minded people in the world who want what you want.) Which brings us to…

The 7th key to your lovely life: Connection and Community.

For me, this is the big pay-off. When you’ve communicated something you are passionate about to like-minded people, they “rise up” and want to join you. It can be as simple as getting an enthusiastic response in a one-on-one conversation, or as complicated as hosting an event/party/gathering, and having your guests tell you what a wonderful time they’ve had. They’ve actually been joining in the vision you created, and their positive response gives you connection and community.

While the other keys can be “work,” this one is a lot about relaxing and receiving energy from others. I believe we know ourselves best through connection and community, where others reflect back to us what they know about us. It provides wholeness, strength, and support like nothing else.

Coach’s Challenge: Notice where you feel supported and where you don’t. If you find a thin space, look to these 7 C’s and determine what you need to do next that will bring support, connection and community your way. Leave a comment below if this 7 Keys series has impacted you in some positive way. Tell us about it!
